Kristen L. Krol focuses her practice on bankruptcy and student loan issues related to bankruptcy. She has previous experience in civil litigation, real estate, divorce, criminal defense, child protection and bankruptcy law. Ms. Krol enjoys cooking, baking, reading, sewing and photography. She also has a passion for helping her clients and friends take control of their finances. She has attended Dave Ramsey’s Financial Counselor training and has been previously involved in Financial Peace University at both Redeemer United Methodist Church and Northpointe Community Church in DeWitt, Michigan.

She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Federal Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and Eaton and Ingham Bar Associations. Ms. Krol earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. She earned her Juris Doctor degree at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1998. She began the practice of law in Lansing, Michigan, in 1998, and formed The Krol Law Firm.

In January 2012, The Krol Law Firm purchased and took over the practice of Attorney Gregory W. Smith, Debt Relief Legal Clinic of Michigan, P.C., and renamed it Debt Relief Legal Clinic, PLLC. In 2015, Ms. Krol moved the office out of its garden-level unit to one with handicap access at the west end of the same building. DRLC remains in service to its clients and local community at 4710 W. Saginaw Highway, Suite C, Lansing, Michigan, and is the longest operating bankruptcy firm in the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham County area.
